Stephen started playing association croquet in Scotland at the age of 13 in the 1970s. By the age of 21 he had won the Scottish Championship four times as well as the All England doubles championship with Michael Heap, before moving to England. He continued to play during the eighties, playing in the UK’s second eight invitation event, the Chairman Salver, before giving up any serious play towards the end of the nineteen eightees. In 2018, after a gap of 30 years in ranking games , Stephen returned to competitive croquet to find a very different world in which Golf Croquet had emerged as a serious form of competition. Embracing Golf Croquet, Stephen has represented Scotland in home internationals and played in Golf Croquet’s third invitation event. |
